Plastic plants have their place, but they're just not the same as mother nature's perfect fields of wild flowers and lush forests. So went the thinking of founders Peter and Patty Duke when they created SmartWool.

Peter and Patty set out to improve on the proven: make wool, a time tested perfomer with natural wicking and insulating properties, comfortable and convenient. And that is just what they did. They took the itch and shrink out of wool by making wool smart. The SmartWool process worked so well in socks that they carried over the comfort and performance benefits into other key items like long underwear, hats, gloves and apparel.
