About Us

ClimbingGear.com is an online climbing specialty shop that was started by a group of climbers and self-proclaimed gear junkies at Rock Creek Outfitters in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Our staff consists both of climbers who cut their teeth on the southern "sandstone belt" known as the Cumberland Plateau, as well as climbers who relocated from other areas of the nation specifically for Chattanooga's proximity to a wealth of climbing and bouldering spots like the Tennessee Wall, Foster Falls, Rock Town, Sunset Rock and Little Rock City (just to name a few). Our area has quietly grown to become one of the hottest climbing destinations on the east coast.

At ClimbingGear.com, we're serious about our gear. We guarantee to offer only the very best equipment and clothing from brands like Black Diamond, Patagonia, Arc'Teryx, Prana, Petzl, Bluewater Ropes, and more. We want to make sure that you are always safe and comfortable whether you're spending a day at the local crag or heading out on a month-long expedition. As climbers, backcountry access is very important to us. We therefore make every effort to use outdoor retail as a platform to encourage environmental stewardship and improve access to the backcountry. We support the efforts of the Southeastern Climbers Coalition and the Access Fund and we encourage you to do the same. We are also a major sponsor of the Triple Crown Bouldering Series, which takes place right in our own backyard.

While we like to brag on Chattanooga, we'd like to think we're a pretty nice and humble bunch. We understand that customer service is what separates a good company from a great one, so we strive every day to provide the very best service possible.
